Mission and Goals
Our Mission
The Mission of FoSRV is to identify and protect open space in the Shetucket River Valley for the future enjoyment of the public and the preservation of key habitat for fish and wildlife.
Our Vision
The vision of the organization is that the entire river valley corridor and its ecosystem remain permanently protected from damage and inappropriate alteration caused by development both within the target area and up/downstream from it.
Our Goals
• To assist the municipalities of Windham, Sprague, Scotland, Franklin and Lisbon in their conservation initiatives relating to the Shetucket River Valley
• To educate the public about the Shetucket River Valley, its history, geography, natural resources, natural and mad-made threats, and the importance of its preservation
• To raise funds for preservation activities including property and conservation easement purchases
• To work with area land trusts, organizations, and state/federal conservation agencies to insure permanent conservancy of the Shetucket River Valley area
